As the confetti settles from the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory, one thing is clear—we are all part of a winning team. Just as every championship team relies on its supporters, Chestnut Hill depends on its residents to keep thriving.
The Chestnut Hill Community Association (CHCA) and the Chestnut Hill Local are the backbone of our neighborhood, working tirelessly to keep our community vibrant and connected. Whether advocating for zoning protections or covering local news, these institutions help preserve what makes Chestnut Hill one of Philadelphia’s most dynamic areas.
Now, as we celebrate victory, it’s time to rally around our own winning team. The 2025 Better Together Annual Appeal is our chance to sustain this momentum. Thanks to a $25,000 matching grant from generous anonymous neighbors and the Chestnut Hill Community Fund, every donation made by February 21 will be doubled—helping us reach $50,000 to support vital community initiatives.
Being Better Together means strengthening the bonds that make Chestnut Hill special. CHCA and the Local provide invaluable services, from in-depth environmental reporting to safety and neighborhood preservation advocacy. The Community Association unites us through cultural programming like the Pastorius Park Summer Concert Series, while the Local celebrates our community’s heroes—small business owners, artists, and educators—ensuring their contributions are recognized. They also provide a platform for residents to voice concerns, share ideas, and stay informed about the issues that impact our daily lives. Whether it's supporting local businesses, preserving our historic charm, or fostering connections between neighbors, these institutions help us build a stronger, more engaged community. When we invest in them, we invest in the future of Chestnut Hill—proving that we are always Better Together.
But these organizations can’t do it alone. Just as the Eagles thrive with dedicated fans, the CHCA and the Local need your support to continue their essential work. Every dollar makes a difference, and with the matching grant, your impact is doubled.
Let’s take inspiration from our championship team and keep the momentum rolling. Together, we can raise $50,000 to sustain the work of the CHCA and the Local, ensuring Chestnut Hill remains a thriving, united community for years to come.
Jane Hughes is Board Chairman of the Chestnut Hill Local.
