Your support has been very important to the work of the Chestnut Hill Community Association and the Chestnut Hill Local, and I want to share encouraging news about just a few of the things you've made possible in 2024.
Your financial support through donations, sponsorships and memberships has helped both organizations to "keep the lights on," fill open positions and be able to devote staff time and energy to successfully raising additional operations funding and grants that have positively impacted the Local's ability to expand coverage and the CHCA's green space initiatives.
In 2024, the Chestnut Hill Local continued to expand its coverage of the news with award-winning stories and advertising that, as one of the few privately owned newspapers left, is important to not only the people in Chestnut Hill but also in upper northwest Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. The CHCA provided community events with help from community volunteers that were enjoyed throughout the year. We're deep in planning now for our popular HOOPS Madness community basketball tournament and Pastorius Park Summer Concerts. Additionally, in partnership with you and your neighbors, we have been able to successfully advocate for pedestrian safety and the need for access to public transportation here in Chestnut Hill. These activities are ongoing and could not have happened without your support.
While there is so much to be thankful for in the past year – our staff, boards of directors and all the volunteers who made 2024 so successful – with your help we can make 2025 the most impactful year ever for both the CHCA and the Chestnut Hill Local! Your gift to the Annual Appeal can make all the difference.
As we come to the end of this year's appeal, if you have already given – thank you so much! If you haven't given yet or would like to give again, your donation will help us meet a $25,000 challenge grant and get us that much closer to our goal of $200,000. Please donate at www.chestnuthill.org/annual_appeal.php or by sending a check to: CHCA, 8434 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118.
In gratitude,
Anne McNiff
CHCA Executive Director
