Jenks principal Scioli wins Lindback Award

Posted

In a significant recognition of educational leadership, Principal Corinne Scioli of Chestnut Hill’s J.S. Jenks Academy for the Arts and Sciences has been honored with the Lindback Distinguished Principal Award. This prestigious award highlights her exceptional leadership and commitment to the school's International Baccalaureate Program.

The Lindback Award, accompanied by a $20,000 grant, is part of an initiative by the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation to acknowledge school principals across Philadelphia who demonstrate outstanding leadership and humanitarian contributions. Scioli is one of only seven principals in the district to receive this year's award, which she plans to use to enhance school facilities, including transforming the cafeteria into a multifunctional International Baccalaureate Collaboration Center.

"I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as your principal, knowing that my role is not one of authority but of service, Scioli wrote in a letter to the school community. "It is a privilege to work alongside such talented and passionate individuals, and I am continually inspired by your dedication to our students and their success."

Under Scioli’s stewardship, Jenks has not excelled academically and strengthened its community ties.

Erin Younis, the school’s International Baccalaureate Coordinator, praised Scioli's efforts in fostering relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, and families, enhancing the educational experience and enriching the school community.

“Principal Scioli has worked tirelessly to cultivate strong relationships with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and parents and families, leveraging their support to enhance the educational experience for our students and enrich our school community as a whole,” Younis said.
